Tour description

To commemorate the bicentenary of Ivan Kotlyarevskiy birthday, the writer’s homestead was restored in 1969, based on the water color drawing by Taras Shevchenko. The museum is located in the older part of the city, known affectionately among the locals as Ivan’s Barrow. This is a favorite retreat for both Poltavites and visitors to the city. The hill is a beautiful vantage point, with an expansive view of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Monastery, as well as beautiful vistas over the Vorskla river, visible from the nearby White Rotunda. The Museum is open 10 to 6, Monday through Sunday.
