The Ivan Kotlyarevskiy Literary Memorial Museum, opened in 1952, is located in one of the most picturesque parts of the city, on the former Kelin prospect, now Pershotravnevy Prospect, 18, in an old 19th century house, which reportedly belonged to the poet Kapnist. The museum’s exhibition occupies six halls. The seventh hall is reserved for a monthly exhibit of modern Poltava artists, as well as interesting private collection exhibitions. The Museum is open to the public 9 to 5, Monday through Sunday.
