Exhibition description

Ornamentation on the museum’s entrance door. 1960s.
Wood, three-sided recessed carving.
The original doors for the Zemstvo House were crafted by the renowned woodcarver Prokip Yukhimenko from Velyki Budyshcha.
They were destroyed in a fire set by the Germans in 1943.
The Zemstvo House is now adorned with doors made in the early 1960s
by local craftsmen Kapiton Bozhko and Oleksandr Yakimenko
under the guidance of Antin Golub, an outstanding representative of the woodcarving tradition from the village of Zhuky near Poltava
