Cane

The cane is 58.5 mm long, with a metal knob in the shape of an elongated dog's muzzle and a metal rim on the supporting part. According to the Lisovskys, who donated it to the museum, the cane belonged to Nikolai Gogol. The writer's great-great-grandfather Ivan Yakovlevich and great-grandfather Demyan Ivanovich Yanovskys were priests in Lubny and Lubny County in the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
