Bell for summoning servants.
Bronze. Artistic casting. 19th century.
Bells were common in the homes of wealthy families as a convenient and decorative interior element that emphasised the status of the owner. The top of the bell is decorated with a sculptural scene featuring a human figure and animals. The base of the bell is decorated with a three-dimensional circular high relief depicting a hunting scene, a popular theme in 19th-century art and decorative design.
