The Museum of the Krychevsky Art Family is located in Opishnya in a building that is an example of Ukrainian modernism. It was built in 1916 according to the design of Vasyl Krychevsky. The construction was carried out by ceramist technologist Yuriy Lebishchak. Initially, the Opishnya pottery demonstration point of the Poltava provincial zemstvo was located here. Vasyl Hryhorovych Krychevsky was a multifaceted and extremely influential figure in Ukrainian culture. He is considered the founder of Ukrainian architectural modernism, a new style that combined traditional motifs with modern trends. Krychevsky is the author of the State Emblem of the UNR - the Trident, which has become a symbol of modern Ukraine. He was one of the founders of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts. Vasyl Krychevsky was also the patriarch of a large family of artists who made a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian art. The Museum of the Krychevsky Art Family, which has been operating since 2013, showcases not only the artistic heritage of four generations of the dynasty, but also unique archival materials that highlight their biographies and family ties.
