Cerset 005. Women's ‘Kerset’ Inv. #158 Poltava Region, Khorol District Andriivka Village Early 20th century Made of dark blue ‘etched’ velvet, lined with printed calico, with internal ties. The armholes and neckline are trimmed with velvet piping. Decorated with a black velvet overlay framed with pink and green silk braid. The square on the chest of the kerset is embroidered with a floral ornament in the form of a tree with flowers. The embroidery is done in satin stitch with coloured silk threads. At the back, the fabric forms eight longitudinal folds, or ‘fandiv’ or ‘vusiv’, which are decorated with buttons.
