In 1958, the grand opening ceremony of a modern structure of the Music and Drama Theatre named after Mykola Hohol took place. In October 2006, the theatre was granted the academic status. The capacity of the concert hall may hold 539 guests. Now the Poltava Theater is getting to a new level, setting up a new vector of development, as along with favorite performances, where the tickets are always sold-out, there appear new theatre productions in different genres, which gives the theater actors the opportunity to develop professionally. At the same time it helps the Poltava theatre goers to find the repertoire of productions close to the soul and enjoy the eternal phenomenon, the name whereof is Theater.
