One of the oldest local history museums of Kharkiv province is located in Vovchansk. It was founded in 1912 by initiative of archeologist Vasyl Babenko. The so-called Museum reconstitution started in 1996 with collection of documents, photos and folk household artefacts by an action group. 1999 Head of Vovchansk Administration Kosyntsev signed a regulation to found a local history museum. The Museum introduces exhibits to symbolize culture, founding history and evolvement of the town of Vovchansk.
