The enterprise used to be the one of the most powerful in the former USSR. Throughout 120 years of the functioning it has always been in focus of the events vital for the country. The enterprise area resembles big aircraft carrier in the photos done in the space. The Museum display boards expose photos of different spots of the Earth done in the space by “Graphite” system developed in the plant. The system supported durable functioning of the Soviet spacecraft. The plant of Shevchenko used to be a source of highly qualified staff who then became heads of numerous enterprises and scientific institutions in Kharkiv.
