The child is dressed in the dark outerwear with a button on the collar; his gaze is pensive and directed to the side. A neutral dark background in shades of brown and gray strikingly highlights the child's face and the flush on his cheeks.  The artist's signature, "Katashov", appears in the bottom right corner.
